Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures
Chapter 5 of the AANZFTA reaffirms the principles of the World Trade Organization (WTO) Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) Agreement in the development, application or recognition of any SPS measure to facilitate trade among the Parties while at the same time protecting human, animal or plant health in the region.
Under this Chapter, AANZFTA Parties shall provide greater transparency in and understanding of the application of each Party
